The Fancy Fedora™ Difference
Your Fancy Fedora™ Hat is not an ordinary hat! Fancy Fedora branded hats are made by skilled artisans in the U.S.A. Proper care and storage of your hat will ensure that your Fancy Fedora™ will maintain its integrity for many years to come.
Storing Your Hat
If you plan on storing your hat, it’s best to purchase a hat box which supports the brim and crown (You would want want to purchase a 17” or 14 ¾” round hat box for our hats). Sarah’s Hat Boxes are really nice and can be made with inserts. The Hat box should be stored in a dry area and cool so the moisture and heat won’t damage your hat. Use lavender or cedar moth balls to keep moths at bay.
When you are hanging your hat on a hat rack or peg make sure that the hook is wide enough that it doesn’t dimple the hat. Hang your hat by the back where the inside label is located. Do not store on either a hat rack or peg for long periods as it will reshape the hat by pulling on it.
Always lay your hat upside down on its crown if you choose not to store your hat in a box, not on its brim. Leaving it on its brim will change the shape of the hat and cause it to flatten out.
How to clean a wool and straw hat
Dust, lint, etc. are bound to accumulate on your felt/wool hat occasionally. Remove dust with a soft brush and lint with a lint roller. Make sure to use your soft brush with the nap in a counterclockwise direction.
You can clean the straw hat with mild soap and a soft brush but be careful to not dry it.
How to put on your hat the proper way
Avoid handling the crown of your hat as it will misshape your hat. Handle your hat by the brim. Enjoy wearing your Fancy Fedora and feeling fabulous! The Fancy Fedora™ Difference
